The IEA said global LNG markets will stay oversupplied into the mid-2020s due to a surge in new capacity, particularly from Qatar and the US. It also noted that rapid Chinese LNG import growth could tighten the market sooner than expected.
Ample LNG supply tends to keep global gas costs contained, which limits energy-driven input cost increases for feed and fertilizer, though Chinese demand is a upside risk.
