Russia's Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev said expanding Russian port grain capacity will add about 30 million tonnes of annual exports from 2022. The Novorossiysk terminal modernisation would double capacity, with Taman and a new Far East terminal adding more.
Russia's 2017/18 grain exports are expected to reach a record 45 million tonnes.
Higher future export capacity from Russia would add supply to world wheat markets, which is bearish for prices over the longer term. The near-term effect is limited because the projects take years to complete.
