Bloomberg reports that the euro has risen more than 3% since the start of 2018, surpassing most FX forecasts. Several major banks have raised their EUR/USD targets, with some projecting 1.26 to 1.29 by year-end.
Analysts attribute the move largely to dollar weakness.
A stronger euro and weaker dollar tend to support higher dollar-priced commodity values and can make US feed exports less competitive in Europe. Feed buyers in euro-zone markets face higher import costs in local currency terms.
