India has lifted its ban on pulses exports imposed in 2007, after large harvests and low domestic prices. Kabuli chickpea was previously exempt, and competition from Canada, Australia, Russia and others is intensifying, with export offer prices falling.
Reopened Indian pulse exports add supply into a competitive market already pressured by falling offer prices, which is bearish for global pulse prices; pulses are not among the tracked feed symbols.
