The USDA Economic Research Service released 10-year agricultural projections through 2027, including corn and ethanol production. The report expects ethanol output to rise early in the period then decline to 2016 levels by the end, while ethanol still accounts for over 35 percent of U.S. corn use.
Sustained ethanol demand for corn supports corn prices and feed-grain availability, though projected ethanol decline and the blend wall cap long-run corn demand growth. The projections assume no shocks and use the proposed, not final, RFS volumes.
