The USDA announced a $12 billion three-part aid plan funded through the Commodity Credit Corporation for soybean, corn, wheat, dairy and hog producers. The plan also includes surplus purchases for food programs and funding for developing new export markets.
Direct payments and surplus buying cushion farm income and support domestic prices, but do not restore lost export demand from tariffs.
