IEA data show OECD natural gas production grew 2.4% in 2017, led by Asia Oceania and the OECD Americas. US LNG exports rose 278.8%, while Mexican output fell 12.2% after Hurricane Harvey and natural field decline.
Strong OECD output and rapidly growing US LNG exports add supply to global markets, which tends to keep gas prices under pressure. Lower gas prices reduce energy costs for feed processors.
