Malaysian palm oil futures slipped in morning trade, with the August contract about 0.3% lower. Traders expect lower May exports, with AmSpec reporting Malaysian shipments of 1.2 million tonnes, down 8.8% from April, and Indonesian exports down 13.6% month on month.
Falling Indonesian and Malaysian exports point to tighter export availability, which supports palm prices, though weak spot demand is offsetting that effect.
