Officials at the Port of Thunder Bay are monitoring the CP Rail strike and say impacts would take several days to appear. A lengthy strike would reduce grain shipments to local terminals and cut the number of ships calling at the port.
If the strike lasted, fewer grain shipments and ship calls at Thunder Bay would reduce export throughput and could widen Canadian grain basis discounts.
