A Reuters poll of analysts expects emerging-market currencies to recover after heavy selling in August. It forecasts the rand near 14.00 per dollar, the Brazilian real at 3.79 and the Argentine peso at 34.135 within a year.
The Argentine peso is the most heavily sold of the group.
If these currencies firm against the dollar, the cost of dollar-priced feed ingredients falls for buyers in Brazil, South Africa and Argentina, which can support their demand. The forecasts are only expectations and do not, on their own, move prices.
