The dollar index rose to a two-week high against a basket of currencies on Friday, led by gains against the euro. Concerns over Italy's budget weighed on the euro, and the dollar also hit a nine-month high against the yen.
The index was on track for a second straight quarterly gain of about 0.7%.
A stronger dollar makes US commodity exports pricier for foreign buyers and tends to pressure dollar-denominated grain and feed prices. Feed buyers in euro and yen markets face higher import costs.
