The National Climate Assessment, released in late November, projects that yields for corn, soybeans, wheat, rice, sorghum and cotton will decline later this century due to higher temperatures, water changes and pests. Some northern regions could see short-term productivity gains.
Long-term yield declines are a structural concern for feed grain supply, but the projections affect decades ahead and do not move near-term prices.
