The EU defended its planned palm oil biofuel cap in response to Jakarta's objections, saying it is based on 2008 to 2015 deforestation data showing palm oil linked to 45 percent of oil palm expansion in high carbon stock areas. The bloc says certified low-risk palm oil can still receive incentives and that the measure is not aimed at specific feedstocks.
