Soybean futures for May fell 5.7% to $11.55 1/4 a bushel after Treasury Secretary Bessent said the planned Trump-Xi summit could be delayed. Corn and wheat also dropped about 2.7%.
Delay of the summit undermines expected Chinese purchases of US soybeans, a factor that had lifted prices about 17% year to date, so the price outlook turns bearish.
