Industrial Info is tracking more than $1.8 billion in active U.S. ethanol production projects. The EIA estimated Midwest corn ethanol margins fell to an average of 3.5 cents per gallon in the first half of 2019 and to nearly zero in July, due to rising production and falling domestic demand.
Low margins and rising ethanol output point to softer ethanol demand for corn, though new project investment could eventually add to corn use.
