US soybean futures eased from a five-week high as rains in Argentina and southern Brazil improved crop prospects for rival exporters. Brazil is expected to harvest a record crop, and China has increasingly turned to Brazil over the US amid the trade war.
The Phase One deal, announced Dec. 13, is set to be signed in early January.
