UOB strategists suggest the US dollar index may have peaked in September 2019 after finishing 2019 higher. They expect slower US growth of 1.5% in 2020 and a fourth Fed rate cut in the first quarter, with DXY targeting 95.6 by end-2020.
Expected dollar weakness would support dollar-priced commodities, including US feed grains and oilseeds, by making them cheaper for foreign buyers. The view is a forecast rather than a new market-moving event.
