China's tariff schedule on US imports is set to fall after February 14 cuts, lowering total tariffs on soybeans to 27.5% from 30%, pork to 55% from 60%, and beef to 30% from 35%. Tariffs on US crude oil drop to 2.5% from 5%.
China has also granted some exemptions for US soybean imports.
Lower Chinese duties make US soybeans, pork and beef more competitive against Brazilian and domestic supply, supporting US export demand and prices for soybeans and meat. Meal and feed demand tied to these flows could firm as well.
