The FAO Food Price Index rose 3.9% in November to 105.0 points, its highest since December 2014, with the vegetable oil sub-index up 14.5% on palm oil inventory contraction. The cereal index gained 2.5% on Argentine wheat, US and Ukrainian maize, and Chinese purchases.
Tighter palm oil stocks and reduced wheat and maize export supplies support higher feed-ingredient and vegetable oil prices, raising feed input costs for buyers.
