Ukrainian seaports shipped 774 thousand tonnes of staple grains in the week of March 21-27, 2020, down 39% week on week. Corn exports halved to 412 thousand tonnes and wheat fell 5%, with Iran, Egypt and Turkey the top importers.
A sharp drop in corn loadings reduces near-term Black Sea export supply and is mildly supportive for corn prices. The weekly swings are volatile, so the signal is limited.
