US lean hog futures rose on 27 August after technical factors buoyed prices. October lean hogs closed up 0.175 cents at 55.725 cents per pound, as USDA data showed China buying 11,216 tonnes of US pork, its largest purchase in a month.
Chinese pork purchases support export demand and hog prices. The modest gain reflects steady but not strong market momentum.
