Argentina is nearing an agreement with China to support pig farms, slaughterhouses and meat infrastructure, following African swine fever outbreaks. On August 3 the USDA reported 220,000 tonnes of soybean meal shipped to the Philippines, and soyoil futures rose 3.2%.
Chinese investment in Argentine pork production could increase future Argentine demand for soymeal as feed, supporting the soy complex. Strong soyoil and export shipments are the near-term price drivers.
