Canada's barley crop is estimated at 10.4 million tonnes and is of very good quality. Feed barley prices rose C$50/t since early September to C$270/t at Lethbridge, with FOB Vancouver feed barley at USD245/t, and exports are expected at 3.0-3.5 million tonnes.
Strong Chinese-driven export demand and a sizeable crop are lifting Canadian feed barley prices and drawing supply away from domestic feeders, supporting barley values.
