Coceral raised its 2021 EU-27 plus UK total grain crop forecast to 315.1 million tonnes from 306.8 million. Wheat was revised up to 145.8 million tonnes on strong yields in the Balkans and Spain, corn to 65 million tonnes, and barley to 62.4 million tonnes.
Rapeseed was unchanged at 17.6 million tonnes.
A larger EU grain crop than previously expected increases exportable supply and weighs on wheat and corn prices. The higher barley forecast adds to the bearish feed grain outlook for European buyers.
