The USDA weekly National Feeder and Stocker Cattle report for February 14 showed receipts of 341,300 head, well above last week and last year. Demand was good to very good, with steers and heifers selling $5 to $9 higher.
Summer and fall feeder futures were described as bullish.
Strong demand and firm forward feeder futures point to continued support for feeder cattle prices. Heavy receipts are a bearish offset that limits the upside.
