A USDA GAIN report projects Mexico's corn imports rising to 17.7 million tonnes in 2022-23, up 0.2 million from 2021-22. Domestic consumption is forecast at 44.7 million tonnes, while production is forecast slightly lower at 27.6 million tonnes.
Higher Mexican import needs support demand for US and other corn exporters. The increase is modest, so the price effect is small.
