Vietnam's 5% broken rice was offered free on board at $438 per tonne, the highest since July 2021, up from $425-430 the previous week. Traders attributed the rise to tightening Mekong Delta supplies and expected further gains to year-end on rising demand from China and Europe.
Tighter Vietnamese supplies and firmer export offers push up the global rice benchmark, raising import costs for rice-importing buyers. Prices are expected to keep edging higher into December.
