Paris rapeseed futures fell 2% to €464.75/t after forecasts of a 30% rise in Ukrainian winter rapeseed area. Statistics Canada cut its 2023/24 canola production forecast by 6.1% to 17.6 million tonnes, and November canola futures rose 0.1% to CAD 812.6/t.
Ukraine's larger crop and export availability are weighing on EU rapeseed, while Canada's smaller crop offers only limited support because canola is uncompetitive in the EU, so the net price impact is mixed.
