China re-registered CBH Grain and LDC's Emerald Grain Australia to export barley, following its removal of tariffs on Australian barley that had been in place since 2020. Northern Australian barley rose about $20 per tonne and northern wheat rose about $25 per tonne as dry conditions spread through New South Wales and Queensland.
Renewed Chinese access widens export outlets for Australian barley and supports northern prices. Dry weather adds support to wheat, which competes with barley and corn in feed rations.
