Argentina's soybean crushing plants are running out of beans after a historic drought halved the crop, according to the head of the country's grains export chamber. Well over two-thirds of factory capacity will be left idle.
Argentina supplies much of the world's soymeal and oil, so idle crushing capacity tightens global meal supply and lifts meal prices.
