The ringgit opened weaker on December 11 after US November nonfarm payrolls came in at 199,000 against expectations of 180,000. Analysts said the upside was partly due to strikers returning to work, and the ringgit was mixed against other major currencies.
Stronger US labour data supports the dollar and can delay Fed easing, which keeps pressure on dollar-priced commodities and emerging-market currencies.
