ING expects the US January core PCE price index to rise 0.4% month-on-month, after fourth-quarter GDP growth was revised to 3.2% annualised. The Fed Funds futures curve was pricing about 80bp of easing for 2024.
A hotter inflation print would push back Fed rate-cut bets and support the dollar, which typically pressures dollar-denominated grain and oilseed prices and tightens feed import costs for non-US buyers.
