USD/MXN fell toward 18.82, close to an 11-month low, as the dollar weakened on expectations of Fed easing. The peso was on course for a 2.4% weekly gain and had risen five sessions in a row.
Revised US first-quarter GDP showed a 0.5% contraction and jobless claims were at their highest since the pandemic.
Dollar weakness and a firmer peso lower the peso cost of US grain and meal imports for Mexican buyers, which can support demand. Broad dollar softness can also help dollar-priced commodity futures.
