Iowa Farm Bureau reported that USDA's June WASDE cut 2024/25 and 2025/26 U.S. corn ending stocks by 50 million bushels each, with 2025/26 stocks at 1,750 million bushels. Corn stocks came in 42 million bushels below trade expectations, while wheat stocks were also lowered.
Corn carryout well below expectations signals a tighter balance than the market had priced in, which supports corn prices and raises feed grain costs for buyers. The gap to trade estimates is the key bullish factor.
