Sterling slid to near 1.3200 against the dollar on July 31, 2025, extending a six-day losing streak. Traders pared bets on Fed rate cuts after strong US GDP and ADP employment data, and the dollar index hovered near a two-month high around 100.00.
Reduced Fed easing bets support the dollar, which tends to weigh on dollar-priced grains and oilseeds, and softer Fed expectations can also dampen commodity investment flows.
