Sterling rose on Thursday after four of the Bank of England's nine policymakers voted to hold rates, even as the bank cut by 25 basis points. GBP/USD was up 0.47% at $1.342, and the dollar index was roughly flat at 98.23.
The euro was briefly lifted by Ukraine peace talk hopes.
A hawkish BoE split and a softer dollar tend to strengthen sterling and the euro against the greenback, which affects dollar-denominated feed and grain import costs for European and UK buyers.
