Indonesia set its crude palm oil reference price at $954.71 per metric ton for September, up from $910.91 in August, according to a Trade Ministry regulation. The September export tax on crude palm oil rises to $124 per ton from $74, and a separate 10% export levy still applies.
A higher reference price lifts Indonesian export tax and costs for palm oil exporters, which tends to firm export prices and supports palm as a feedstock competitor to soyoil and meals.
