Nearby corn futures fell 23 cents per bushel, soybeans fell 15 cents and wheat dropped about 5 cents after USDA's January WASDE. USDA pegged harvested corn area at 91.3 million acres, a 1.3 million acre increase, and forecast record production of 17 billion bushels with ending stocks at 2.23 billion bushels.
The corn area and yield increase boosts supply well beyond demand growth, leaving the highest stocks in seven years and pressuring feed grain prices.
