Indian vegetable oil importers are waiting for details of the India-US trade deal, which could cut tariffs on US soyoil and other farm goods. Current crude vegetable oil imports face a combined duty of 16.5%.
Initial US import quotas are expected to be small.
Limited expected quota size means the deal is unlikely to shift Indian import flows much. South American supply still has a cost advantage, so US soyoil prices gain little.
