GBP/USD softened to around 1.3345 on July 30 as the dollar rose on the Federal Reserve's hawkish hold, with three policymakers dissenting in favour of a hike. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said the committee would act quickly if inflation accelerated.
Trump also said Washington would strike back at Iran after an attack on a military base in Jordan.
The stronger dollar on Fed hawkishness and renewed Middle East tension can lift dollar-denominated commodity prices in other currencies and affect US export competitiveness. The overall effect on feed prices is modest.
