USDA's August 2026 WASDE cut 2026/27 US corn ending stocks by 137 million bushels to 1,653 million, about 92 million below trade expectations. Soybean ending stocks rose 10 million bushels to 320 million, above expectations, and wheat stocks fell 5 million to 717 million.
Corn yield was cut 2.3 bushels to 180.7 bu/ac while harvested area rose.
A corn stocks surprise well below trade expectations tightens the new-crop balance sheet and supports corn prices. The larger-than-expected soybean carryout is bearish for soybean and meal prices.
