GBP/USD briefly rose above 1.3300 after UK second-quarter GDP was revised up to 0.5% from 0.4%, then gave back more than half the gain. Markets priced a better-than-80% chance of a Bank of England hike on November 5.
US 10-year yields climbed to their highest since 2007.
Pair direction is driven by the UK-US rate gap, so a growth upgrade alone does little to move sterling against the dollar. Rising US yields reinforce dollar strength, which weighs on dollar-priced commodities.
