China reported a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak to WOAH on June 10 after pigs at a Wuzhou slaughterhouse tested positive. Vietnam, Nepal and China also reported avian influenza losses, including a fatal H5N6 human case in China, while ASF vaccines are moving toward commercialization in Vietnam.
Asian disease losses tighten regional animal protein supply and raise feed demand, while ASF vaccines could gradually restore hog output and feed use.
