Indonesia's palm oil biodiesel output reached 13.1 million kiloliters in 2023, with 12.2 million kl distributed domestically and about 187,810 kl exported. The government has yet to decide on the B40 blend format, choosing between full FAME and a FAME/green diesel mix.
A pending B40 mandate would sharply raise domestic palm oil demand for biodiesel, which would tighten exportable supply and support palm oil prices if approved.
