Indonesia is set to raise its palm oil export levy to between 4.75% and 10% from May 17 to fund a biodiesel mandate and replanting. GAPKI has urged the government to delay the increase.
The levy hike raises Indonesian export costs and could reduce its competitiveness, while funding for biodiesel supports domestic demand for palm-based fuel.
