Scott Gerlt of the American Soybean Association said a crop disaster in Argentina cut soybean oil availability and lowered global demand for 2022-23. He expects supply to recover in the next marketing year as USDA projects higher output.
Argentina is a major soybean oil exporter, so a recovery in its output would ease tightness. He expects this to pressure soybean prices lower as supplies return over the next year or two.
