Chinese buyers booked around 20 cargoes of U.S. soybeans and about 10 shipments of U.S. corn, according to traders. The purchases follow Russia's invasion of Ukraine and weaker-than-expected Brazilian soybean supply.
They also come after the phase-one trade deal expired without agricultural targets being met.
Large Chinese purchases tighten available U.S. supplies and support soybean and corn prices. Buying driven by supply worries from Ukraine and Brazil adds to upward price pressure.
