Brazil's second corn crop planting is trailing average pace as wet weather delays fieldwork in south-central states. Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul show the largest delays, and the ideal planting window has closed for much of the country.
Late planting raises the risk that the crop meets dryness or frost during maturity, which could reduce yields and support corn and soybean meal prices. Soybean harvest delays also slow supply to export markets.
