Brazil's 2022/23 safrinha corn was mostly planted on time in central Brazil but later in the south. Parana's agricultural agency Deral cut its safrinha estimate by 0.68 million tons to 14.7 million due to late planting and possible switching to wheat.
Mato Grosso reported about 80% of its crop planted within the ideal window.
A lower Parana corn estimate tightens the Brazilian safrinha outlook, which supports corn prices and feed costs. Acreage shifting to wheat further reduces the expected corn supply.
