AgRural raised its forecast for Brazil's 2024/25 corn production to 130.6 million tonnes, with the safrinha crop estimated at a record 103.4 million tonnes. Harvest in central-southern Brazil was 18% complete, well behind the prior year's pace, and frost and rain complicated field operations and loss assessments.
A larger Brazilian safrinha crop adds export supply that competes with US corn in the second half of the year, which is bearish for corn and related feed prices. Delayed harvest and frost-related quality concerns partly offset this pressure.
